God's Favorite Tribe is a tribe for those who have tasted many brands of religion and can't find one that tastes as good as you know it should. The boxes of religion on the shelf for us to consume have all gone stale from man's need for power, control, and money.

I was raised a Catholic and believed in the basic rules of peace, love, and understanding taught by a liberal named Jesus. I have since learned that the leaders and prophets of all the world?s major religions are saying exactly the same things, there is really no difference in the core experience of life for every man, woman, and child on this planet. A Muslim loves his life, family, home, and beliefs as much as any Christian or Jew or Humanist.

Today, I only see Religious hypocrisy. I see so called Christian men and women parading around with banners of hate, distrust, and anger, love of war and violence, denial of the light that logic, reason, and science shines on the truth about life, ethics, and justice.

Religions teach separatism, self-righteousness, and pumps up the ego with a shallow pride of having the one and only god on your one and only side in everything. Just believe in my brand of god and pay your tithe and you will be saved in the afterlife, so help me god (Ka-Ching). If you have to kill or be killed in the name of God, it?s OK because, you will be rewarded by god himself.

This Moral Majority, Right-Wing Propaganda has absolutely nothing to do with the Jesus I believed in. The Jesus who accepted all men and woman without judgment, the Jesus who turned the other cheek so the angry could see the foolishness in his anger, the Jesus who lived a simple life free of the burden of material possessions, the Jesus who gave his life for his convictions when he could have easily sold out and joined the corrupt at the highest levels of their church.

Where is this old Jesus? Am I really expected to believe that he really now lives in the hearts of George Bush, Dick Chaney, Condoleezza Rice, and the Fortune 500 CEO?s? Am I really expected to believe that he lives in the hearts of Jerry Falwell, Rush Limbaugh, and Sean Hannity?

I?m sorry folks, but the Jesus being marketed on the TV and radio is not the same Jesus that my dear elderly family members taught me about.

I am not a bible thumper, but I would be a fool not to recognize the many thought provoking passages that pop out of it. There is this character called the Anti-Christ. The ultimate Anti-Christ would come in the same package (white robe, sandals, long hair, and beard), but he would teach the exact opposite of what the real Christ taught. The only messages I hear today are totally Orwellian and totally Anti-Christ.

Does the following passage 1 John 2 seem to connect to my drift here?

He that saith he is in the light, and hateth his brother, is in darkness even until now. 10 He that loveth his brother abideth in the light, and there is none occasion of stumbling in him. 11 But he that hateth his brother is in darkness, and walketh in darkness, and knoweth not whither he goeth, because that darkness hath blinded his eyes. 12 I write unto you, little children, because your sins are forgiven you for his name's sake. 13 I write unto you, fathers, because ye have known him that is from the beginning. I write unto you, young men, because ye have overcome the wicked one. I write unto you, little children, because ye have known the Father. 14 I have written unto you, fathers, because ye have known him that is from the beginning. I have written unto you, young men, because ye are strong, and the word of God abideth in you, and ye have overcome the wicked one. 15 Love not the world, neither the things that are in the world.
